Should I propose?
I've been with my girlfriend for 7 years. I think for out anniversary this year I was gonna buy her an engagement ring.
How does this work? Is the ring just a promise to eventually get married? Do I get a prenup signed?
Any recently married or engaged anons have any tips?
Or even bitter single people? I wanna hear both sides.

It depends on the context man. It depends also on what you need to remain sane and somewhat content.
Personally I enjoy and am so used to isolation that I could never marry anybody, nor do I ever want to force further conscious life into this world. But this mentality probably does not apply to you, so it's best to look within.
