Virgin males in society

It's about archetypes. Virgin women are perceived as pure and unspoilt, virgin men as weak and lacking something crucial. Women are to be taken and men are to take. When men fail to take they are branded in crowd's mentality as weaklings.

It's not fair but it is how most people subconsciously perceive the issue.

Because the worst thing you can call a woman is a whore/slut, and the worst thing you can call a man is a loser/virgin.

But keep in mind that - while indeed there is some degree of disapproval - it's only in a very broad and reduced sense. People don't really care that much.

Usually the Innocent is looked down upon if it is represented in men, then again there are cougars who like that shit though, maybe not virgins but younger, more innocent men.

You can consciously decide yourself though whether you think it's justified to look at today's virgins as a group like that, western society is pretty fucked atm.

It's also logical from evolutionary standpoint - men who were virgins in their older years never got a chance to reproduce and pass their genes and save their bloodline. So for the members of the tribe virgin guys were like dead men walking because it was clear that they wouldn't leave the most valuable thing - an offspring - after their death.

Female virginity on the other hand in many cultures was, and to extent still is, perceived as something sacred and/or magical, something with a great value.

this, if you own it people can't use it against you. The problem is most virgins don't want to be virgins, so its always an area of weakness for them. Virgin shaming is overblown and is mostly perpetuated by the virgins themselves because they are insecure about it. I'm a 25 yo virgin, everyone knows, no one gives me shit, I even get props for it.
