As for how much furry, I guess furry is more of a community in practice that's built around shared interest in the porn. So it's not like fursuit sex is common (or even appealing to me) but it's still a sexual community because everyone's relating over sex, everyone's gay, everyone's sexual to such an extent that they'd join a sexual community, and most people feel pretty sex deprived as if they never realized it isn't rare in the fandom. So yeah, it's not like there's really a specific sex act there I want (although take it anonymously from me, there's a lot of zoophile furries).

In a more general sense I'm enough of a furry to like adopt some of the dialect with other furries, and I visited a local con a few years, but that's about it. I feel like I'm generally a pretty normal guy so I don't act over the top.

I think it may be a little different for gays, but it's hard to say. If anything, there's a slightly greater tendency for promiscuity, because a lot of gay people feel sexually repressed and want to rebel against what they see as harmful conventions like heteronormativity, monogamy, and so on.
