I need to study a lot but I have a habit that whenever I get bored, tired, hungry, stressed I go on my phone or computer and fuck around. How do I quit this habit/addiction so I can get shit done instead?

To really learn something, just dedicate it 20 hours

>20 hours
A-a day?

1 hour a day is good. Just make sure you rack 20 hours total and you will never forget anything

I have a test Friday, how should I prevent myself from not studying?
stop calling it an addiction as this just makes the problem seem bigger than it actually is
what are you doing when you're goofing around on your phone or computer?

Researching peer-reviewed scientific articles to better understand myself and the universe, conversing with professionals of high esteem and pedigree, engaging in riveting, mind stimulating games of 4D chess and that's just my Saturday.
Real answer: Jerking off, browsing 4chan and playing bad video games.

right: porn, video games, etc. All of these things are sources of cheap and very instant gratification. They give you a sense of accomplishment in a physical way for nothing - your body thinks you're reproducing when you're jerking off to your 2d waifu on 4chan and that you're really accomplishing something by playing runescape. Why is it so difficult to eat just one potato chip? My point is that this isn't a problem specific to you, but that these things are designed to hook people in. This isn't a personal problem. The internet is for porn and 2/3 of americans are overweight.
Studying, on the other hand, is a long-term project and its benefits will only be felt years later. In terms of short-term bursts of dopamine, there is no comparison between the two, and your body fights this type of behavior like a screaming child being denied candy. You should leave your phone at home or in your dorm or download selfcontrol on your computer because you aren't at the stage where you use them in moderation. Maybe there is a psychological reason for your behavior, but instead of endless potential naval gazing, just avoid sitting next to a bowl of sweets if you don't want to overeat.

So basically brick my devices until they're just machines for studying? I can appreciate the simplcity of it.
How long should I do this? Rest of the semester(August 4)? I'm scared because this is actually my only form of social interaction but I do want to do succeed here.

yeah, avoid them when you need to study. throw your phone into your backpack or maybe even study with friends, but make sure those friend bring you up to their level instead of goofing around with you.
in terms of social interaction, what I would do is schedule in an hour or two a few times a week for chats or coffees with friends so that you aren't a pariah. think of socialization and study as two distinct spheres of life unless you can study well with others. if you keep your phone around as you have been doing, eventually - and it will happen - you'll get distracted by some dumb shit your friends are talking about in a group chat or a video mom sent you about a funny cat. before you know it you'll have pissed away 5 hours.
