Long story short my parents are very passive and naturally so am I.
I want to learn to be assertive, I know it is very different from being aggressive but either way I just don't want to be passive because I can see how it is negatively affecting my life.
Any tools for me to learn Assertion skills? I was thinking of joining a fight club to work on being aggressive but I want like assertive communication skills mainly.

Coincidentally, I was in a job interview where one of the requirements was to be assertive as fuck. I'm not assertive (nor am I passive), and in that interview the interviewer was assertive as fuck. And I mean, AS FUCK.
Here is what I learned from the guy -
Be sharp. Don't sum it up to "Yes" or "No", but be definitive and don't beat around the bush.
Less mumbling and stuttering. It shows you're not calm and collected.
Don't let other step on you.
EYE CONTACT. Don't look sideways, you gotta look them in the eye.
Oh, and don't be a jerk. Assertiveness =\= being a douche
