The only way you could achieve this would be through streaming on Twitch, but people would have to come for your personality/entertainment, you couldn't generate a following entirely through Tetris gameplay.

Not at all, not unless there was a tournament for it, which there isn't. Even getting the number one high school isn't good enough, and the incentive for people who have actually broken the world record tetris score have such little incentive to go and prove it at an actual competition they won't even pay 800 euro on a plane ticket to do it.
