I went to a restaurant to ask for a job and they hired me on the spot. No paperwork or anything. Didn't even have a food handlers card or any certificates necessary to be a waiter. How shady is this job?

a lot of waiters dont have food handler cards, i didnt have mine. i did have paperwork though but i had to force them to give me the paperwork after they kept extneding my 'trial period'
