So it's been about 4 years since I got my drivers license and in that span of 4 years I haven't driven once, though now I'm in a position where I have to drive. But the main problem is that I get anxiety when I think about driving for no apparent reason. I've never been in an accident, I'm not a bad driver (I don't think, anyways), and I don't know why. All of this anxiety goes away when I'm actually driving and I feel fine but it's getting to the point where it's becoming a problem in my day to day life. I had problem with anxiety back when I was in high school but I always used that to push myself harder (studying longer to avoid getting a bad grade, etc.). Could this be generalized anxiety disorder? Should I see a doctor about this or is it just normal anxiety?

Your anxiety is rightfully placed. you are about to get into a giant hunk of metal that's going to hurtle you down a pathway of rock. at 60mph or 90km? and by the way if you sneeze, spill hot coffe on yourself and freak and tweek the steering wheel a little thats potential death of yourself and also others.
