How can I make money on the side in a non-illegal manner working in an office of a that has a lot of wastefulness and non-existent oversight?
For example, I found out that our office throws all the used laser jet toners and cartridges for our printers and fax machines into the trash. I just found out that there is sites that buy these anywhere from $2-$5 EACH (verified we use the same ones they buy currently), and we've been doing this for years. We burn through 30-40 of these a month when I could have been cashing these in for extra bucks, which is what I'm going to start doing starting today.
So, sort of things like that. This is very much the stereotypical office setting with 150 or so staff, so there's a lot of waste and potential things to make money off of I feel, but I don't know what I don't know.
Any ideas?
Selling company property, even if it's in the trash, is illegal. You will likely get yourself fired.
