Do have a degree in something already? Any college experience? Do you want to do online or at campus?

i have college experience, but when i was frsh out of high school i was an idiot weeb who went for art school and get some sort of animation degree... didnt work as plan, i tried again for IT but i guess you can say i didnt have the motivation... now that im "alone" again i want to give it a try, my kid is my only motivation right now. I want to do a combination of both, i like hands on classes.

How old is your kid? How old are you? I would say if your currently working then look into taking one or two IT classes at your local community college that'll work around your schedule. Part time school is going to take longer, but it makes more sense given your circumstances.
im 29, kid is 4. i was recently laid off last week actually, i went to my local community college and applied for student aids, however, im not too sure where to start. i want something fast, like a good certification so i can get a decent paying job and continue school. my parents are supportive and want me to go to school or get a part time job if i dont get unemployment.

If you're unemployed then you should definitely qualify for unemployment, student aid maybe more of a pain because that's going to be based whatever you filed for taxes (unless that's changed in the 3 years since I was last enrolled).
I'm not 100% with IT jobs but I'd research if they prefer a BA over a certification or AA. You should see if any of the universities do an off campus programs for a BA. I'm in a somewhat similar situation (28, art degree, 2 year old) - I'm looking into going into education, one of the unis in state have a building here in town that offers 2 nights a week for 2 years for my BA. It's pretty convenient
