What's the best way to lucid dream, closest I've gotten was waking up from a dream in a dream by realising I was dreaming in the dream

More sleep, better schedule.
Not freaking out when you realise you're in a dream- work out how you can tell.
For me it's light switches not working.
Waking up in the night can do it- I can pause the dream, go to the toilet and play the dream again when I get back into bed.

Don't stress about it. Try to read about it and get as exited as you were when you heard about it in the first time.
Diary for dreams. Makes it easier to remember them.
Imagining things while closing your eyes and preparing to sleep. Try to imagine from your POV.
Do both daily. Maybe that weird "lucid dreaming meditation music" crap on youtube will help you.

I heard this from a streamer called vinny, try to write all your dreams in a book in as much detail as possible, it helps learning to lucid dream

Get in the habit of reality checking. When you do something mundane either try pinching your nose closed and breathing through it or shoving your thumb through your hand and eventually you'll do it in your dream and you'll know something is fucky.
Alternatives are checking for changing text and lights that don't work.
