get shallow thing of water and place in front of fan
get thin cotton towel/cloth thing and clip it up such that it's dangling directly in front of fan and bottom edge is in water
turn fan on

Blackout drapes for blocking sunlight. Rotating fan with ice and water filled cooler in front of said fan. Cooking only rooms you care about. Increased airflow with multiple windows open for maximum windage. Not being a bitch.

if your nights are cold i usually open my windows at night then close them in the morning before going to work keeping cold air in

Same problem, my apartment is open plan (bedroom doesn't have a door) and the bedroom is in a loft conversion so it gets to 30c in there. I have AC but as soon as i turn it off it heats straight back up with 30 mins, shit sucks man.
