I have one of these plastic keychains (not this specific one; it's Tails). I work at a McDonald's, and I left it on my bag for awhile. I noticed that the keychain was starting to smell faintly of grease, so I took it off. It's important to me, so I want to know how to get the smell off.

Stop working there.

anon that wasn't what I asked

It's a solution though. If you stop working there the smell won't stay. Work in a flower store or something and it will smell like flowers. Or greasy flowers.

As I said, though, I haven't taken my keychain there for months, and the smell lingers. I'm afraid to simply use the methods I've learned for getting a grease smell off of dishes, though.
Your flower shop solution is cute, though.

Try soaking in vinegar and water

Tails from sonic the hedgehog?
Try putting it in with some charcoal

Pic related. My mother got it from a Gashapon machine.

Nobody cares. Throw it in the washing machine (minus the chain) the next time your mom does some laundry.
