He's an asshole that doesn't do much of anything, my mom doesn't know much about taxes and usually has one of my dad's friends do it for her under a joint marriage file. But since she doesn't know, technically she's evading too since his name's on it and it claims he earns 0 when he's a self-employed service worker. I want to report him/screw him over somehow but I'm afraid my mom would go down for it instead.

First of all whose paying the rent. Maybe get life insurance first. Lots of dad's get murdered every year. You gotta look out for the family. Insurance is a back up

Both my parents, mainly my father.

I mean, I'd just rather not go into the details of why my dad's despicable. I'm not trying to ruin his life because I didn't get a ps4 for christmas 2 years ago or something like that.
no loyalty to the parents
welcome to marxist utopia

> not trying to ruin someone's life because they didn't buy you a ps4
you have your priorities wrong then famalam :^)
Your mother would need to lawyer up but ultimately she's going to get fucked because she consented to filing jointly, having her husband's friends do it, and hasn't reviewed anything despite claiming that shit for God knows how long.
I feel for your mother but she needs to seek legal advice.

so then get him into trouble for whatever he did, not this crap that's going to take your mom down with him and also leave you without a place to stay.
