I turned in a job application for Jack in the Box a day ago. The manager says the best way to get an interview is to follow up in a couple days. So I'm thinking of going back tomorrow. What should I say to him to follow up? I'm not good with words. I have autism.

I usually call back after 3 days and ask to speak to the manager. If the manager isn't in, ask when they will be and call back then.
Explain who you are and that you dropped off an application, and ask if they have had a chance to look at it yet. Almost every interview I have has been initiated this way.

This. Managers basically want people who will do their work for them and someone who does this is showing themselves to be that person.

That sounds good but should I go there in person or just call?

It's a fast food job. That guy sounds like a fuckface. Aim higher bro, try a sit down restaurant.

I'm trying man. It's not easy. I live in a small town and don't have a lot of opportunities. I plan on trying out a real restaurant but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm basically not qualified to bag groceries and there's no warehouse jobs in this town. I think it's very likely that I'll run out of options before I get hired.
