but seriously, being a teenager is tough. You're surrounded by people who will judge you for the most superficial reasons and single you out for being different. She probably has body acceptance issues as a result of societal pressure to achieve ideal figure, but instead of exercising she's participating in self destructive behavior. You should sit her down and have a serious discussion with her. Get to the bottom of why she's doing what she does. Tell her you're concerned, and be there to listen if there's anything she needs to talk about. It could be bullying. Jealousy. Body envy. Let her know you're there for her if she's going through anything, and as her brother it worries you to see her throwing up and her happiness is important to you.

Same thing happened to my sister, a little bit younger. When I saw evidence I kept and eye on it and when I was sure she wasn't just sick with a stomach bug I told her straight up that she better not be making herself puke. And then I told my mom.


She still struggles a little bit with it but usually opens up to my mom about when she's feeling tempted to start back up again.

All in all, glad I intervened.

It depends how serious you feel it is. Maybe start reading up about it first and have a visit to a child therapist by yourself without mentioning it to your daughter to gauge what the situation is.

Ask her to spend some time with you maybe watching TV or videos or playing a game or whatever. Just something that gets the two of you together, and then tell her you have something to say.
Tell her you've noticed her behavior and you're worried about her. Dont judge her about it, just ask if there is anything you can do to help or et her to explain to you what she's feeling.
If she doesnt want to talk to you, which she probably wont, tell her you want her to get help somehow.
This will sound scummy because you'll be emotionally manipulating her but tell her how sad it makes you to think about her doing this to herself and she may at least be guilted into helping herself.
