I make $120k/year
Live in bay area
Found an apt that I like for $2k/month
This feels like a huge amount of money.
I REALLY wanna have my own apartment, been sharing room then sharing house for a long ass time and I wanna have my own shit for once.
How can I justify this $2k/month cost?
It's 20% of my income basically.
Pic unrelated

Job's pretty stable
Actually have recruiter trying to steal me away for a bigger offer but like current job
Bay area is expensive. Don't expect to find much cheaper. I'm in the northbay.
fuckin please, out of 120k that ain't much. maybe take up some hobbies and get laid. a decent place to live is good for you.

yeah this.
%20 of income is not that bad either no matter what your income level.
just make sure you also on the way to retirement savings in your plans.
i don't think any further justification is needed unless you're a money fuck-up somewhere else in your life.

Thanks
I have $10k savings rn
Also, I try to live super frugally so spending $2k seems almost unjustifiable to me..

good luck on your obedient wife. get a shiba inu.
>2k doesn't seem frugal to me
that's capitalism

It costs money to live, autism bro. You don't want to pay 2k+ for an apartment? Then move to Chicago or somewhere else and take a paycut then pay 1k for an apartment.

lesson learned
getting a 2k/mo apt ;)
