I know for a fact Amazon hires literally everyone ( i worked there). VERY high turnover because its very physically demanding. Walking about 11 hours with 2 small as fuck breaks. But any job is a good job.

Also you can fake things on your resume. Like say you worked on a random project. And as a reference you can make a google voice account, it gives you a secondary number you can relay to your phone. So someone calls 1234567 and it rings on your phone thats 7654321 without them knowing, and just give a good recommendation. Also just ask friends or parents that you'll list them as a reference.

Let me share something.

A very good friend of mine is approaching his thirties. The only job he ever worked was right out of college for an employer who only hired him because his parents happened to have hired his daughter for her first job decades ago. A "your parents took care of my daughter, so I'll return the favor" type deal.

Grossly unqualified for the job. No experience, paid decently. After a few years, due to ownership changes and politics, he was fired.

That was 2014. He has not found a single employer who will hire him during these past three years. Worked two gigs total since that time. One was an internship that lasted three weeks before they told him to not come back, and the other was day laboring for a few local events.

This friend has applied to jobs of all levels, and has recently laser-focused on retail and entry-level jobs that don't require any experience. He can't get a single break.

Now, what justifies your expectation that you can be picky at 18?

I work in Human Resources and I can tell you, unless you are applying for a job at a small company or you know someone, you won't get any further than the application process. It's difficult to convey any of that "cleverness" on a resume. You'll be screened out and tossed aside based on any one of a number of factors but most likely no experience in the job you are applying. Most jobs except for things like food service, customer service etc have 100's of applicants per job posting. 3 or 4 get chosen for an interview and one gets the job. Good Luck!
