I don't like admitting it but my biggest downfall is lack of motivation to study / do daily chores due to depression and / or laziness. I just don't know how to combat it. I don't do that much in a day aside from college but I find studying and doing chores distracting. I can't focus. Even so I do so little in a day I still feel exhausted with the least amount of effort I do. I don't know what to do now. Sometimes it gets so bad I stay in bed all day. My current situation at home isn't great and now I'm freaking out because it's exam season. Currently laid in a bath for half an hour contemplating life. Does anyone have some advice how to better myself? Please
>>
Biggest reason kids lack motivation is because they spend all their time doing unproductive things like looking at their cell phone, video games, porn, internet watching tv. All that piles up into negative momentum. If you wanna be a productive person you need to build positive momentum instead.

You got me there, I'm hooked on games, cell phone, porn, Internet etc. What is positive momentum?
>>
>>18306499
Positive momentum happens when you are having a busy day and getting a lot of your shit taken care of. Simply put: accomplishing tasks gives you endorphins and you can stack them. Sitting around and being a useless shit doesn't give you endorphins, it only gives you distractions.

Thank you for the advice, I never thought if it that way but I guess you're right
>>
It may just be adhd / add. you could try to get a adderall or vyvance prescription if it starts too become a really big issue.

No problem man. Just imagine yourself as a tumbleweed tumbling around and collecting more sticks. If you don't move you're not going to collect sticks. You're just going to be a sad, lonely stick on the ground that doesn't get anywhere in life.

I just took some test and this is my score. I would like to think I'm normal but that is above 50% so it is a little worrying
>>18306555
Wow what a metaphor, guess I wouldn't want to be stranded alone as a lonely stick haha
but serious thanks for giving me a new way of looking at things and just a general feeling that there's a way around this feeling if I put some effort on my part. It's true, once I get started with work I'll often want to do it until I finish

THIS

Like no shit. I've had a motivation issue for years. Anxiety, panic attacks, etc..... Doc thought I was depressed and gave me Zoloft and some other ungodly anti-deprtessant. What a fuck storm that was. Motivation literally flatlined.

Get your ass out of bed and slay that cunt called reality. Hit the mother fucking gym.

(you'll read that exercise works just as well, if not better, than the poison Big Pharma pushes on us - disclaimer: there are those who do need SSRI's and the like)

Fuck the word "motivation". Do what you need to do. Do it 110%. Focus on scoring major points of accomplishment - school, gym, work,.... Before you know it "motivation" won't be in your vocabulary. Except down the road when you mentor young bucks who will be at where you are now.

And, unless you absolutely, positively, NEED drugs, stay away from them. Especially Adderall (aka Meth)

>stay away from them
some people actually have adhd, retard. don't discourage people from pursuing treatment.
>>
>>18307516
I did put that disclaimer in my post. Reading comprehension much?

ADHD meds are overprescribed. Everyone likes adderall/meth. Stats prove that out. Enjoy your brain damage.
