The only purpose of your life is what you make it.
Please realize noone gives a shit about you or me. This should be freeing as it allows you to do whatever the fuck you want. Why have you gotten all that shit for your life? It sounds like you didn't even want it, it was probably what your family wanted or whatever. You need to think long and hard about what YOU want. Noone can do that for you.

I'm not saying it's easy, I haven't found what I really want either. I'm going on a trip this summer to a desolate place to do some real thinking for a month, trying to figure out what my deepest desire is.

trust me m8, go to a doctor about your symptoms. He'll either prescribe you shit or make you go to therapy. Try both and see what's more effective and/or works better for you. of course, its not 100% certain for you to have a mental illness, but you probably do have a genetic tendency (due to family history) to be prone to depression. try and get help, and if you both figure out something that works, your life will improve by multiple folds. don't worry man, try to get help and you'll be alright.

I only found out AFTER i went to the doctor after years of struggling with anxiety and depression alone that my mother and most of her side suffers from anxiety.
