I am insanely jealous of my friend.
We are both in our late 20's, and have been trying really hard to "make it" since teens.
Well he has finally come onto something that has basically given him everything he has ever wanted - but here I am still struggling to get by.
We don't talk anymore because everything is about him when we do, and he is kind of a dick now and I feel like he looks down on me now that he has "made it".
The jealousy is eating away at me. Has anyone else felt like this?
It's kinda a natural response to change.
Sometimes you don't realise it but many people are friends of convenience.
If you think you can hang out and chill about things without bringing up the gap in current life then it'd probably be a good thing.
Chances are they're suddenly a lot busier with life now rather than actively ignoring you.
First off, are you a man or a girl?

It could be that he senses your jealousy and decides to "poke the bear" to make you realize how silly it is. Of course you should be able to be happy for him, but if he keeps rubbing it in your face I understand that could be hard.
To answer your question, your feelings are natural, don't be ashamed but try to not let it affect you even though it may be hard.
As for advice, I would stop talking to him. I can't stand people that can only talk about their own successes. I've dumped several friends like that, you can't make them change, but you can deny them spreading their toxic ego in your life.

Thanks for the response

Thanks. I think he is just obsessed with what he is doing which is why he is always talking about himself. But for instance if I talk about a project I am working on, he is suddenly a guru in everything on why it wont work and what I need to do to make it work, and constantly relates it to how he made it work.

In the darkest of moments, the Emperor’s light shines brightest.
Over the faithful, jealousy has no dominion

Yeah I don't allow people like that to stay in my life. I usually hint at them with body language, a couple stinging jokes and if he doesn't get the message I ghost him.
