I keep getting turned down for jobs and its really discouraging. I've applied to 5 different places so far, three of them being simple retail/fast food places and zero luck. I don't have a criminal record, and I have retail experience. I thought it might have been that I have a GED and no college degree, but idk.
Its starting to really suck, my bills are catching up to me and I'm just falling deeper into this hole.

The CV is one aspect of the job but I presume when you apply you have to give a reason? You have to sell yourself there.
Whoa... 5 whole places....

This
fife is not enough. try fifty and then start to complain/worry, then do another fifty

Nigga, please. I had a great equivalent of HS diploma, work experience in couple of sectors and a solid CV but usually get 20 rejections before a call for a job interview for crappy jobs. Now with a degree it's pretty similar.
A lot depends on your location but 5 applications are still basically nothing.

Your financial position sucks but keep going. I'm a student and got turned down at a fair share of fast food and retail jobs too

Seriously, I applied to 5 today alone and I likely will not stop there.
Location?
OP here, you guys pretty much put it into perspective for me. I've never been turned down a job, not before these 5 anyway. I've worked at 11 different places so far. I suppose I'm just not used to it.
I'm in Charlotte NC.
