Girlfriend of two years told me today that she wants to take a break from our relationship.
The worst part about it is that I'm losing my best friend, but aside from that, I can accept what she wants. One thing is that I was planning on getting her a giftbasket to be delivered by her family to surprise her. Her uncle who is unaware of our breakup is asking me if I want to give him the go ahead to buy and bring her the gifts and I'm torn on what to do.
I know we're not getting back together and there's no way I'd do it as some kind of desperate plea to get back together, but I almost want to follow through with my plans.
I'm thinking its just a force of habit that's causing it. What do you anons think?

yeah i say don't get her the gift basket. it sets a bad precedent for yourself and you don't want to be the kind of guy who buys gift baskets for girls who just broke up with him.
Yeah... you don't want to be that guy, just save it for when you get back together.

nah don't you're probably just not over her yet but its a complete waste to be honest
you really realky shouldnt. just cancel it if you dont want to tell her uncle about your breakup
Thanks for the advice, anons. I'm having her uncle bring her her favorite rose with a letter explaining how I feel, but not the basket.
