It's not true that semen is reabsorbed into the body - sperm are reabsorbed, but not semen, semen is stored in the seminal vesicles and when you have too much of it it's expelled via nocturnal emissions. That said, assuming you're properly hydrated, abstaining for a week is probably overkill. Just try a few days.

When you have sex, try to do it for as long as possible, and maybe masturbate beforehand that day (without orgasming). That signals to the prostate and other seminal glands to step up production. It's not really clear whether that excess volume is ever stored but if you feel like doing something like that in the days before you have sex it can't hurt. Definitely do it the day of, though.

Aside from that stay very well hydrated, eat foods high in zinc as mentioned. L-arginine supplements also apparently do actually work very well. I don't know anything about safety or dosage so be smart about it if you take them.
