I'm addicted to my phone. social media, 4chan, texting, Snapchat, all that shit. I stay up too late and I miss out on the moment during class because I'm always on this stupid fucker. how do you get better self control so I can chill out with this thing? (typed at 2am on my phone when I have to be up in 4 hours.)

What kind of teacher/professor lets you on your phone during class? Mine demand Everything Off at start of class and throw out anyone using theirs.

Simplest solution. Find what need/want you are fulfilling by doing them. Find Activities that fulfilll the same need

Every time you go on that shit, reaffirm why you don't want to, and don't go on it (don't think "oh ill just have a quick check" either, that contributes to the habit). Set particular periods to check that shit and heavily limit the time. If you put the work into it, you can remove the habits and be free.
I just got bored of it and stopped. I'd rather go do something fun with people than read about their lives on Snapchat/FB and all the laughs and info you get on those things is junk. You forget it as fast as you found it and all you're left with is wasted time you could've been making memories or working to build something lasting.
1) - Delete all your social networks. You really don't need them for anything. The friends that matters are those you see in real life.
2) The smarphone addiction it's most difficult. I have it and I have tried different things but I haven't be able to control it. My bad habit is using it in bed and staying hours using it to can sleep because I need to be watching videos or here reading stupid things to not think about my problems. Thing I have tried: put the smartphone in the bedroom of my parents so I can't use it during the night (I started using the pc instead xD). I have reduce all the things I do with it, I only use it to whatsapp, youtube and 4chan basically. Recently I have thought of using an old phone but the thing that stops me is not being able to use whatsapp and have to call every time to say something to someone, and that is difficult to me because I'm used to only texting.
I hate all the modern life with these stupids technologies to keep us inside the house. We spent half of our lifes looking to screens and not reality. I wish I was born when internet didn't exist. What is the benefic to having a computer with acces to the internet in your room since childhood? Nothing. Only to deteriorate your social skills and to become a looner. Ohhh yeah you can download movies and tv series, and talk with your friends ohhh so cool, so cool. All of those things could be done before the internet and people went to see each other to talk and go to the cinema or whatever, but they went outside. And the biggest meme about this issue is that computers are good for the school and to get information... hahaha that's is what you told to your parents to get the computer but it was ullshit and you know it. The main reason was to play video games, watch porn, social networks, chat with your friends and downloading stuff.
Personal computers with total acces to the internet in the bedrooms of kids were a BIG MISTAKE. Also smartphones are the final BIG MISTAKE.
