Team sports, period. It'll force you to interact with other people, which could lead to friendships, it'll give you shit to talk about with existing family/friends, and perhaps most importantly, it's good for your health. Plus it looks good to potential employers. Shows that you're active, likely in decent health and a team player

Find a sport you like the look of and see if there's a local club you can join in. From my experience everyone is friendly as fuck and don't make you feel bad for being shit at the game

Shoot guns, take up fishing, camping. All of these are great ways to meet friends, I always have people asking about my guns at the range, I let them pop off a few rounds, conversation gets started, boom, I've made a range buddy. Same basic thing with fishing and camping though when fishing its harder to talk to people, most people do that to get away from others.
