Hey /adv/, I'm Indian and my gf is Arab and I plan to marry her (we live in America). My Arab friends have told me that many Arabs are very racist towards Indians and I'm worried that if I met my gf's parents I might be met with hostility and be kicked out because of my race (I haven't talked about this with her yet, so there a chance her parents might not care). Religion won't be a problem since we're both Muslim.

I'm going to go through with meeting her parents regardless, but if they say they don't want an Indian in the family, how should I react? I certainly won't lose my cool regardless of what happens, but I honestly have no idea what to do in this situation. My natural reaction would be to tell them I respect that they want the best for their daughter, thank them for having me over and leave. Is there a better way to respond?

All jokes aside, what's the real issue? They wouldn't want to associate with the children just because they're mixed race or something?
