However, I think most people are confusing the seriousness of an upper GI bleed with that of a lower GI.

Definitely still ER material, but the dark, fetid smelling blood that you should be worrying about more.

I'm at the hospital now. We waited here a long time and the doctor snuck his finger inside his anus and he didn't like it. Now they are taking blood from him and making him wait a long time. There goes his tobacco and my oil change. But they said that the blood is in his lower part and not the higher part because it is bright red, signifying that the blood has not time to absorb through and poop out British or blackish. So now he has to go to a colon doctor to put a camera inside his anus. On Monday. The receptionist said why we waited that long to come there.

Probably he has a tear on the lining of his colon. He should be fine. This happens to me periodically. I lift and I have a high protein diet and sometimes the all the protein, especially the shakes gives me hard stools and this happens. Bright red, no pain. Another time I got a bad stomach flu and had explosive diarrhea for over a week, the strain on my bowels cause this too, although at that time the fissure must have been more severe because I was in quite a lot of pain from it, like my asshole had a cattle prod up it.

As said, the blood is bright red which is less cause for alarm than discolored, black blood, etc.

Thank you I wish I would have known that earlier. You must be a human and not a robot, because they were writing to go to the hospital and not telling me that he was fine. He is happy that most likely it is not cancer and not happy that the doctor inserted his whole index finger inside him.
