This is something I've been thinking about.
If something bad happens to me, and I die before I'm expected to (I'm just 25), I want my prized possession, my car, to go to my partner, whatever our relationship might be at that point.
How would I start to go about this? Should I make a living will? Because I can't sign any paperwork if I'm dead.
I looked at this page (I live in PA) and it's very detailed. http://www.dmv.org/pa-pennsylvania/title-transfers.php
Under the "vehicle as gift" section, from my understanding I think I still need to be alive, if not present to complete the deal.
Any advice?
Sorry for being an idiot. I just want to do this legally if it happens. I'd love to just say "here's my car I'm dead I won't need it", on paper it won't hold up
Saged so I didn't bump thread
Oh good, then they can seek it to cover half of your funeral expenses.
You want a good gift to leave behind? Get some life insurance.

I'm not here to think or talk about various insurances. I wanted advice on the subject matter.
Hasn't anyone been through something similar?

Talk to a lawyer and write a will.

It is very, very simple.
Write a will. "I leave this to him and that to her and my car to him."
A lawyer can help with a will (and file a copy) for about $100, or you can do it, perfectly legally, on your own. Google the How To

I definitely think it's worth getting a notary to write it up.
