then do what you have to do, don't mess around. You only live once and you will spend your life working on something related to that you studied. You may be asking this because you see other people not caring about it. They don't notice how important this is.
I'm in a similar predicament, 19 and I'm working on my studies, getting general ed out of the way while I work on specialized courses, if I go to a university and get a degree, how fucked am I if I can't get a job in that particular field?
