You can do it, but you're asking if you can learn something inherently involved with other people on your own.
When i trained at kickboxing muay thai .i went 3 times a week for 2hours at the temple. You need to join a club/temple. Youpretty much need a training partner to help do the leg stretches, hold the pads, and sparring. And yeah its good for self defence youll learn to use your fists, elbows ,knees ,legs to fight. Plus some grappling. Just go do it no ones socialising everyones training.

>self defence
Are you girl? Boy? Age, weight and height? Do you lift?
And who do you want to defend yourself against? Rapist? Mugger? Terrorist?
In most cases the best self defence is to have good shoes and sprint. Niggers are too lazy to run.

Don't buy into the self defense meme. Its what every newfag that shows up to a Dojo says to avoid someone kicking him out for being a school shooter autist

My credentials are 5years kung fu and 2 years muay thai. No you can't. Maybe learn a basic stance, hand position or basic punches at home, but it won't make you a better fighter since you'll not apply it with other people through sparring. Can't learn fighting if you don't practice fighting

Are you telling me op lies on the internet?
Are you telling me that joining dojo for sole purpouse to learn how to injure people around you in the most effective way is bad reason to join?
