How do I find purpose in my life? Have you ever had some sort

Most people discover their purpose by trying a wide range of things that just do fucking NOTHING for them. Personally, my reawakening came in the form of me realizing that the job I was working was going to kill me, and if I kept working there I'd be fine with that because it also made me hate my fucking life and want to die.

Your purpose is your own, and only you can really find it. The difficulty I've found in working at mine is getting external validation for it, and really I should rephrase that to "needing external validation for it".

I have always had a purpose in life, I know exactly what it is I want to do, how I intend to go about it, and what I'm looking for out of all of that.

But only recently did I learn how to do all of that without this blind determinism and narrowminded mentality. Like, I really opened up to the idea of possibilities, unexpected things, you-never-knows, and what not.

A lot of my extreme determinism came from, what I learnt only later was, fear and anxiety. Basically I wanted something due to the fear of having nothing and that's a silly reason to want something, I mean your purpose in life should be something real and not just something to fill a void.

Only recently did I let go of the idea of voids, and completeness, love and hate, and basically all things binary and extreme. The world doesn't work that way. It's not either success or failure, it's all arbitrary and meaning exists but it is not stationary. The day you get that is the day you learn to breathe again.

Here's the funny part though: I'm a political science and cultural theory student studying at a fancy artsy-fartsy intellectual college, one of the best in my country ... and I somehow learnt the human-ness of things after a break up. Ha! Life's weird!

I think the first step is to find the willpower to find your purpose, personally I found it, of all places, watching anime, specifically Gurren Lagann (spoiler alert), after Kamina dies I concluded that it is better to die trying to accomplish your dreams than to live a long life crawling on the floor.

It took me years to find out what I wanted to do with my life but at least I knew I wanted to do something.

The moment you realize you have the power to change your life any way you see fit is the day you reawaken. People live their lives running on automatic, expecting things to just be handed to them. When you go out there and make a difference you realize life doesn't suck unless you let it.

Yup. I just went for a run one sunday night. Threw up on myself from overexertion. Just realized that exertion and pain are a good thing. I'd been living the dull, boring, grey life of a perpetually satisfied nerd for years and years. But you need some bad to enjoy the good.
