How to be more introspective/self-reflective?

Isn't that by nature something you have to determine on your own?

Could someone practice and work on being more self-reflective, or is it something where you either got it or you don't?
another bump
I'd like to start by saying, anyone can become introvert-like and self-reflective. How you get introverted/reflective could be different for everybody.
For me, how I got really introverted was because of my experiences. An example from my life would be when I was flatting with someone, I started singing, but basically got told to not sing. It's at this point where being an extrovert/introvert counts.
An extrovert would sometimes get angry or maybe try to retaliate. An introvert would accept what they said and not sing.
If anything, I was really embarrassed around them cause of their confrontation, so in turn, I really kept to myself.
After I left the Flat, I'd keep re-thinking about that scene and my embarrassment through my head and told myself never to do that to anyone else. That re-thinking process was the self reflecting part of me.
So for me, it was my mistakes and embarrassments that made me shy. It's more of a Try-Fail-Adapt sorta thing. Again, it's different for everyone
