I can tell you right now, I've seen this a million times. Young guys get in and think that they can have a girl or wife, and be a soldier at the same time. It doesn't happen that way very often, bud. If you were an officer, maybe it could happen. But you're most likely an enlisted grunt looking mother fucker.

I've seen so many good dudes (most around 18 or 19) get dear John letters or divorce papers. There were even a few that got then in my platoon in fucking red phase. The same guys that get those letters are young, homesick, and are prone to do something stupid when they get the bad news. The best piece of advice my dad gave me before I left was to never put a girl before your career. It's worked out well. My life is literally just one chain of dodging bad decisions.

I hate to break the news to you, but she can cheat on you pretty easily no matter where you are, or what your situation is.
