The most likely explanation, as some other anons have already said, is nerves. Make sure that you're not just stripping down and trying to jam it in right away; take your time with the foreplay. 30+ minutes of foreplay is not unreasonable, depending on how good you are with your hands and your mouth. Anticipation is the foundation of a solid boner.
