Want to buy Overwatch, but broke and no future money in sight

Hello /adv/ high schooler anon here. I'm nearing the end of my senior year. I don't have a job, and haven't had one. It's not because I'm a NEET or anything. Rather, my mom has be doing a full IB program, while taking college classes in my free time. She's told me to not have to worry about getting a job as long as I continue my studies. Also, she told me recently to avoid getting a job so it doesn't fuck up my FAFSA/scholarships.

Naturally, she said that she'd provide for me if I am full time studying. Normally, I don't ask for things like this, and can live off of gift money from birthdays/holidays. But for the first time in my 18 years, I asked my mom if I could do some work to get $40. She got all pissy, immediately saying no because it was for a game.

I get that I'm asking for money for a game, but there's a couple things I don't think she realizes. I'm not asking for it for free; I offered to work for it, or even pay it back in the future. Secondly, all of my friends who don't commit to schooling as much as me have jobs, and are able to buy things like this all they want because of it.

Basically she's forcing me to have no spending money. She's not a reasonable person to negotiate with, so that makes it all the more frustrating.

I'm hoping to receive small scholarships from the local businesses and use that money, but that wouldn't be for a few months. Am I fucked til then?

Also, I recognize this may be seen as whining or spoiled. But at least I'm not a degenerate who's asking for drug money or something of that sorts.
