>>

I'd say do it while you're losing weight. Not only will you get a kickass workout with each class (assuming you aren't just taking like family tae kwon do or karate or something) but you'll be picking up useful skills and boosting your confidence. Only thing to be aware of is that for a decent gym you're probably going to be looking at about $800-$1000 USD, at least if you're in the US. The rate is probably going to be about 150%-200% of whatever your local fitness gym's rates are, though it depends greatly on whether or not you can actually work out at that martial arts gym, if they have no equipment they'll probably charge less.

Music production/DJ'ing, working out/learning self defense, contributing to discussion (such as MGTOW)

It probably won't be the easiest thing to learn but www.renoise.com/download has a very usable demo that you can fuck around in. there's youtube tutorials by the guys who make it and it's very comprehensible.

Honestly, depends on what you're looking for. Do you want to go hard, do active training, that kind of thing? You the tai chi kung fu eastern mysticism type? You want family friendly classes so they don't work you too hard? Just gotta shop around, depends on what you're looking for. There are about a dozen gyms in my area and I tried 7 of them before I signed on with one. Almost all gyms will offer you a 1 month free trial.

If you are going for the hardcore, competitive, street style gym, you want to look for proof. The gym I'm going to now has been open for only 4 years and has literally thousands of medals and trophies from local, regional, and even natural and professional (as in MMA, UFC, etc) contests and tournaments hung up on the wall. They're totally okay with showing off all that because it says, "Hey, our shit works and we can prove it."

The gym smells like a locker room, and it's basically a tiny office in front of an industrial garage full of mats and cages, but some of the best fighters in the world have trained there. They can prove that their way works.

Listening to music, DJing, and cigar smoking. Need to get back into DJing though. That shit was fun. Wasn't that great at it though.

Photography and train spotting. Usually it's the both of them together. I've made quite a few friends doing this, so it's fairly well rounded, although I wouldn't mind engaging in something more physical as well.

Did you do live mixing or were you just playing songs completely back to back?
>>
I like to work on my suicide note. The latest draft is so good that I should submit it to a publisher

I play Magic: The Gathering, that got me my current job at a game store and I also am a Magic Judge.
I also play some board games.

D&D - there's lots of ways to play with groups online
Baking and decorating - it's relaxing, satisfying, and I make a decent chunk of money off of basic things like cookies and cupcakes
Meditation - something new I'm trying since I've been stressed the fuck out lately. It's been a personal challenge to see how long I can keep my head empty or become more aware of my body or surroundings
People watching - getting inspiration for art or just having fun making up conversations or stories in my head about that person

I think and walk. Like to cruise around on a longboard, practice flow-arts (poi and staff in particular).

I keep myself occupied with reading, old JRPGs and /mu/ flowcharts. Been practicing the guitar again lately.

Anyone into this sort of thing? Several fine hobbies have already been posted on this thread.

hey thats me

Oh nice, what kind of music was it? I have dozens of mixes on my iPod as I've found seamless playback and creative mixing takes music listening to a while other level. I would love to see some of my favorites live but my favorite genre right now, drum and bass, doesn't have much of a scene here in the states.
