So, I've decided to start shooting porn as a hobby. Hopefully I'll start getting enough revenue to support this venture. Don't have a website yet because I've only shot one real scene (one was with some friends for no pay) but I do hope to get one up in a little bit. I have no delusions or desire to become some big producer, just happy if I can stick to amateurs doing amateur things. What should I look out for? When I post on the advertising boards I do, I make sure to put in all caps (MUST BE AT LEAST 18+++), I confirm with the lady afterwards that she is over 18. Is there anything else I'm not thinking of? I don't want to get busted for something I was oblivious to.

paperwork, taxes.

I know that. I've run my own business before. Focusing on the porn aspect of it. It seems so close to being prostitution which is illegal in most states.

which is why you should do the paperwork, as it will make sure its not legally prostitution.
dont get mad just because there isn't magical advice that doesn't already exist, particularly on a board that isn't going to be frequented by people who have their own porn sites.

Background checks, extensive STD testing, business plan, liability disclosures and wet wipes.

Mandatory medical checks with signed proof from a doctor. This is absolutely essential. You can pay for it if necessary.
Taxes. If you're making money off of this, now or in the future, keep track of how much, from whom, your business expenses, and how much you're paying others.
Liability disclosures: hire a lawyer to write up your waiver, don't do it yourself.
Make sure to sterilize the area you're going to be filming on before and after all performances.
Insurance: if you rack up a lot of equipment, or if you're a human with a body, get that shit insured. Injuries during sex in porn aren't super uncommon for men or woman, and equipment gets damaged all the time.

You know those long disclosures you see at the beginning of professional videos? You need to be following all of the regulations mentioned there, along with a heap of others. Hire an attorney to walk you through it.
