I'm currently coming out of depression, and so now I feel emotions again, far more than I have for the past year (I was extremely apathetic). For example, I've started crushing on a girl, but it's making me feel like shit because I don't know if it'll work out etc.

Everything seems to give me massive mood swings and I'm afraid of falling back in to depression. I'm currently practising mindfulness but I am worried that is just going to make me apathetic again.

I can sometimes just let the feeling slide but it's very persistent. Any advice?

To feel is wonderful. Now you must learn to control your emotions, this takes time.
Fear is paralyzing, it kills you dead. Find understanding of yourself somehow.

Are you on any drugs? And how is your physical health?

It takes time for your body mind and soul to recover from long term depression.

I did some drugs this weekend, but it's only when I go on a night out. I have to say I am able to enjoy those nights out far more - I've been recovering for about 2 months.

Life is much better than it is before, but feelings are hard too. For example, I haven't even found girls that attractive for the last year, but I'm liking this girl a lot, which is really nice to know I am actually able to have a care for attractiveness.

Stop with the drugs, anything that affects your hormone levels and neurological system is not okay. You can take these up again after you've stabilized. This applies to medicine and food as well.

Don't over react then. It's okay to feel strongly about things. You will relearn how to handle them.

It's either drugs or alcohol, and I actually cope better with drugs than alcohol. I know this is not a good idea but I need to enjoy the time I have out I think.
