Do notes for hard sciences before the lecture. Don't dedicate a lot of time to electives if you're not interested in them.

*Note that to get the most out of these two places you must be at least good at logic and problem solving and capable of asking a well defined questions.
**It is also useful to observe the profile of high ranked members of these site, they are professors and experts in their fields (or genius students), check out their answers list (some are creative and absolutely eye opening new way of thinking about old concepts)
