Can i go to college being 20 (soon to be 21) I decided i didn't want to go to college right out of high school. I felt like I was not ready after some things happened for example my mother passed away while I was in high school. But after working jobs and such I have been unemployed for about 4 months now I realize I want to go to college and get a degree now so im not working shitty jobs for ever. Can I go to college like a normal kid out of high school. Like in a dorm and such? Anyone else have any experiences with this. I would like to get out of my parents home, so I do not want to do community college. The nearest community colleges are also about 40 mins away and its pretty shitty to drive that everyday just for class. Thanks for your help.
Nope. You have to go to college the moment you finish high school or you'll never be accepted. That's why they are never any stories of middle age mother's going back to college or people who do military service going to undergrad or grad school (SARCASM)

Don't go to college, go to a Vocational school instead

What do you think about more than anything else in life? Physics, Astronomy, Music, Programming Computers? College is a great way to get credentialed in any of those fields if you want to pursue them to the level of a career.
4chan will tell you to learn to weld and shit, which is pretty good advice if you're into it, but going to college and networking with a lot of people and actively working hard at whatever you're passionate about is how you have a happy life and get paid for it.
As for dorms, you're probably better off renting a cheap house nearby with people your age and older who you get along with, instead of sharing bedrooms with whoever you get assigned with. You can still go to all the parties and socialise and have fun, but you'll also have a better place to live. If money is a problem, maybe dorms are the way to go!

Not only do i want to go to college to learn. But also to leave my home town. I would like to get a house, but i dont have to many friends/ no friends where ever i would be going. So i think a dorm would be better.
