How do I stop feeling insecure to my peers?

That's why I just dropped out of high school and became a NEET instead of dealing with that inevitable shit.

You make enough money to attract women and have children at least, that's the only thing bothers me that I can't do. Unfortunately she might cheat on you, divorce you, and take your kids and half your money. That's why I just never even tried anyway, I have no other reason to care about making money.

And the worst thing is i always "almost" make it in my endeavors, no matter what they are. If i flat out get rekt at something, I accept I have no talent for it and move on

it's the opposite for me
I went to a typical suburban public school
most people went to the local community college or the nearest state universities
I look around and see everyone is just mediocre and so am I, and I constantly regret having just given up and gone to this mediocre university in flyover and taken this job in the same city I've always lived in
this is prison

OP I'm not as old as you are, I still go to university and don't have a job, but I know how you feel.
I failed everything I tried to do. I just barely made it here and it's not going well either.
I've done a third-rate high school and now I'm going to a third-rate university.
Everyone I knew from middle school now is successfull, not to mention ahead of me of three years. I should have graduated by now.

However, while we may not become rich fucks surrounded by attractive women, we can still do some good. It's all about having a goal.
You should have a new goal. Something that would make you feel good. Even if you would have to work thrice as hard as others, do it.

If you settle down for something you deem mediocre you will never be happy. You may have a family and live for them but this thing will always eat at you inside until you die.

If you don't want regrets, then start again. There are always things we can do.

i have above average grades
issue is im basically in a circle of friends where everyone is either baiting for compliments or has serious self doubt, but theyre all astronomically better than me at everything (i go to an art school i feel like i need to mention this cuz the difference in skill when looking at drawings is very obvious) i dont know how to mind my own damn business and not compare myself to them...im thinking about either giving up and not trying or just full on dropping out of school....help.

I graduated a top 3 school according to Shanghai Ranking for my field. Then I went to an equally good grad school in a different field, I had always been insecure about my ability as an undergraduate, especially around more talented people, so I thought that switching to a more "difficult" and abstract field would make me look superior. It didn't, instead I sit in the same class with talented people who are 5 years more experienced, my grades suffered in the first semester. So, what did I do? I took courses in my previous field this semester, in order to help my grade and to feel superior to people in my old field, once again.
It's quite pathetic, really. While I'm flipping back and forth in academia, my friends are doing well in SF bay, Silicon valley and Wall Street. I avoid any social media website now.
