Is it normal to have a low ringing in your ears at all times? It's not too noticeable in a normal environment with noise in the back (I can tell it's there though), but it gets very noticeable when it's quiet, especially when I'm trying to sleep.

>Tinnitus
From what I've read tinnitus seems much more severe and invasive than my level of ringing, so I assume everyone has some sort of ringing.

Yeah it's called getting old

i've never remembered my ears not ringing when listening to dead silence
>>
Not normal to me at all. Yeah if it's really dead silent it can feel weird, some people apparently hear their own blood as well. But the ringing absolutely does not sound familiar to me, let alone hard enough that you can tell it's there with other noise going on.
>>
That's because your eardrums have been over abused by sounds. You might have a case of Tinnitus. Try to go easy on the loud music or anything that might be considered too loud.

It's tinnitus, there are different severities though. When it's quite I can hear munch heart beat, due to slightly high blood pressure, but it's also a form of tinnitus. You should go to a doctor to make sure there isn't an underlying issue.

Do normal people hear absolutely nothing in dead quiet places?
