Hey I'm in the same situation right now expect I'm a girl. The guy I'm dating right now is soooo fucking boring, average in just about every way and has some bullshit major. I've known him for 5 months and hasn't said on funny or interesting thing that entire time on top of that he's like a typical redditor. He loves telling puns and I have to sit there and pretend they are funny.

It's easy to settle if you keep your self from getting to invested and while you are settling always keep an eye out for something better. That's how I do it, I also remind my self that attention is better than no attention and i like being sucked up too and complimented with out reciprocating and putting any effort into the relationship so that's what really drew me to the guy I'm with. The power dynamics of the relationship is in my favor.

I explain all that in the second paragraph, attention. Attention is nice and getting compliments is nice too. Also when other people see you are wanted it boost your value.
