Anxiety about moving

I moved cities last year when I was 28. It was difficult and I'm still trying to build up my social circle again. At times I get very lonely but I don't for one second regret moving here.

Making friends when you're an adult out of university is a challenge but you do find that the people you mix with tend to be through choice and therefore, very good friends.

Do you have a partner? Would you be looking to find one when you moved?

Last May I accepted a job offer at a small town 13hrs drive away from friends and family. I also have to drive 8 hours to get to a town with more than 10,000 people. The pay is extremely good, my life is comfy. But you are right. I have not made a single friend. The population of the city is much more important than anything else. You can find clubs, and real groups of people with similar hobbies that don't exist in smaller towns.

I don't have a partner. Completely single, not even a dog. I'd be open to meeting someone to be with, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily a goal. In fact, I'd be very concerned about moving away, immediately jumping into a relationship, and then establishing a social circle that completely revolves around her, that could disappear at any moment.

It's in the greater LA area, so I'm definitely not concerned about having people around to meet... just concerned about finding the right people that will have the room in their life for some random new friend at this age.

In all honesty moving for a job isn't bad. It sounds like your current location isn't that great anyway. I'd make the jump, and take the time to organize events. Invite people to things and just do you.

I didn't even mention my current place... This is where I grew up, and where my family and best friends are.

Why would I be concerned about Antifa in the slightest? We're on /adv/, not /pol/.
