Just want to get out of the 10-11 dollar/hour gutter I've been in for my entire adult life so far (I'm 26). I have experience in sales, graphic design, and retail store management but I'm not in love with any of it, I'd be willing to pursue a new career if I had to. Just want some easy low stress job where I can make enough to live comfortably as a single man, I already live pretty good on 20k a year, so I estimate that at 30-40k I'd live like a king
lol OP I'm a web developer that is self-taught. You can make those figures easy :). Graphic design + web development will get you far. It's not for everyone though. If you like to work with your hands I'd suggest you figure that out fast and do something else (trade school or some shit).

Only issue with that is I'm getting a little burned out on design, I keep hitting creative walls where I just can't do shit
I'll look into web development, but although I'm decent with computers I'm total shit at coding

you certainly don't have a good attitude, sounds like you give up at the first signs of adversity. If you don't press on you don't learn. It took me about a year to get a first job teaching myself about 2 hours a day. I started with html, learned CSS, then the basics of Javascript. After I could create a basic ass website I started applying for jobs, had someone in the industry review my resume and kept trying, I got a couple interviews I wasn't ready for but it added to my experience. It's tough to get your first gig but once you do you will grow at a fast rate if you are good at what you do.

I'm trying to get a job as a web developer but I never get callbacks. Any idea what I should do? I have an associates degree in Web and User experience design, have a portfolio that I've been told by recruiters looks incredibly nice and impressive, and have some rudimentary coding skills (html and CSS are a breeze of course, but I know some javascript with libraries and frameworks...don't know if i'm to a production level though).
Currently getting a degree in computer science but I just began that.
I am female and my lack of confidence shines through.
