you might try a musician forum, craigslist or something like it, school/gym note boards... You basically tell your instrument and that youre looking to form a band, musical genre possibly, then contact info.

The instrument idea is ridiculous. Dont waste your time op. It'll take you YEARS from starting at 0 and then to become good enough to hold your own in even an amateur band. This is the stupidest advice ive ever read. In the meantime of self teaching, you will continue to spiral into the depths of neet hell until eventually you give up on the instrument and life.

Start by getting a job or volunteering someplace.

But first you need to get accustomed to being in the world again. Also to get over your anxiety. here... although im not a fan of this guy on anyrhing that isn't him talking psychology, but he knows his shit within this realm and hes really inspiration. Watch these. Then exposure yourself. Go to the movies. Go to the store with your mommy. Little by little. Fight through the anxiety. You can overcome.
