So, I'm 20 and I never had any serious diseases until I was recently diagnosed with rectocele, a grade 1 internal rectal prolapse that has made my life a living hell. The doctor sent me to do biofeedback but I'm slowly realizing the only shot I have for a normal life is surgery. I'm pretty scared, not of the pain I may experience or the whole incision with my body opened in two thing, but the thought of not recovering fully. Do any of you know something or had any surgery? Does it feel like it was before? If it isn't bowel related it's okay too, I just want to know if its worth the shot.

I cant tell you about any complications or whatever but you have two options
>current situation for you
>living life with an anus on your side

12yrs ago i had a spontaneous pneumothorax, a collapsed lung. Long story short i went into surgery, b/c most cases the lung 'heals' itself but mine didnt, spent two weeks recuperating in icu, hooked on opiates ever since, dont do it.

did they shove in a chest tube when you were still awake?

No, they put me under to insert the chest tube, but there were times when they needed to disconnect the tube from the machine

Watched a few emergency trauma docmentaries and they always inserted the chest tube with the patient awake. Seemed cruel.

Look up the success rates. Look up chance of ending up with a colostomy. Then decide if you think its worth it. Make sure you get a particularly experienced surgeon if possible.
Being able to poopoo properly is quite important m8.
