In a bit of a bind.
Long story short my friend who is a hair dresser did my hair a couple of times. I thought it was nice to treat myself. She color removed black and red dye from my hair because I wanted to go blonde. However after thinking about it I decided I want to dye my hair red again.
She told me if I use box hair dye in my hair again she will be upset and "punch me in the face".
Every time I use box dye, it's never extreme change and I've been doing it for so long that it comes out good every time.
Should I feel guilty about doing my hair with box dye?
It's not that I can't afford it, I just find it convenient. I don't mind the results. I also feel like what I choose to do with my hair is my decision.

Simple enough, box hair dye is going to kill your hair in the long run. The hair product she uses is of a much higher quality and less chances you'll actually put the base of the hair in contact with it. There's a lot more maintenance to do if you don't want to end up bald girl.

I don't dye it often enough to damage it. I keep it healthy and I eat healthy.

Well, it's up to you what you want to do with yourself. If you're determined to dye your hair despite the possible consequences of box dye, so be it, no one can or has the right to stop you. You can go to another barber if you wish, too. Don't make it more of an issue than it is :)
