Heya

I am 27 and worried about needing to respecialize my profession/field for a second time.

I am working as an internal, hourly paid, HR Executive Assistant for our recruitment needs in a college. Mostly admin, I do filing and set up documentation for interviewers/lecturers for internal job roles. I like the people and the place but I don't like the work. Its become tedious and honestly the place doesn't have room to go further. Its dead end essentially besides becoming a senior HR EA.

I worked as a HR Assistant and didn't like it with contracts and documentation. I kept making small mistakes in documentation (not for any important client, just for my direct reporting manager). Was let go after 6 months. I found the work terribly boring and tedious as well.

I respecialized from Psychology (made it to Masters) and got a diploma in HR. I also have a CELTA qualification and Diploma in Marketing.

I'm not liking it. Also I am pretty poor with people. I hang out with another nerdy guy 99% of the time during lunch break, thankfully we enjoy each others company.

I recently got feedback for an internal position (go from hourly to contract) that "We think you'd be better off in a research position".

Not "It was good" or "it was shit", just that.

What should I do?

I don't want to do a PHD in Psychology as the route is too long of an investment of time. But I don't want to go into HR as of now.

I have no idea how to get into analytics.

Any advice /adv/?

Pic unrelated.

>I'm not good with people

If you're not good with people why did you get into HR and psychology? A profession which requires you to be good with people. Maybe try working in a different organization or business, probe around on websites like indeed.com or just google "jobs requiring a <your specialty here>"

I know your pain, OP. I'm interested in what advice people I have for you. I'm in a similar situation

You could use that CELTA tojoin the Peace Corps and make Africa a beyter place.

One of those graduates who was interested in the subject but wasn't so much in the profession. For HR was for money but back tracking now.

Would Marketing Analysis be an option?

From the looks of my post, I could use some English help too.

Perhaps, because you said you had a diploma or something in marketing. Marketing is a broad spectrum of things with which you don't necessarily need to interact with people. Rather than changing what you have again, just use what you already have at your disposal.
